West Sussex Mind's Mental Elf fun run is on Worthing seafront on Sunday 29 November: 5k or 2k, runners at 10.30am, dogs welcome, tickets from £10.
West Sussex Mind’s Mental Elf Festive Fun Run returns to Worthing seafront on Sunday 29 November. There is a 5k and a 2k, and you can run, jog or walk either one.
The charity calls it its main fundraising event of the year. Last year 250 runners and walkers took part and raised £9,000, it says.
Tickets start at £10 on the Enthuse booking page.
When and where
The route follows the Worthing parkrun course along the promenade, from Splashpoint to Grand Avenue and back, the charity’s event page says. The booking page gives the base as Beach House Grounds, Brighton Road, BN11 2EJ.
Registration on the day opens at 9am. The start times on the booking page are:
- 5k: warm-up 10.15am, runners 10.30am, walkers 10.40am.
- 2k: runners 10.45am, walkers 10.55am.
There will be live music, food, refreshments and Christmas stalls, the charity says, plus children’s activities.

Who can take part
Anyone, West Sussex Mind says. In its own words: “Whether you fancy a 5k or a 2k, everyone is welcome! Walk, jog, run or dance at your own pace, no experience needed, all ages and abilities are welcome, and even your four-legged friends can join in!”
The event page adds families with buggies, teams and wheelchair users to that list.
Costume is optional. “Elf costumes aren’t compulsory, but they’re definitely encouraged!” the charity says.
Every finisher gets a medal, which the charity describes as bespoke and environmentally friendly.

Where the money goes
West Sussex Mind is a local independent charity. It supports adults, children and young people with their mental health across the county, and runs training and campaigns, it says.
“Every step makes a difference,” the charity told us. “West Sussex Mind supports adults, children and young people across West Sussex, because no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. In 2025, we supported 8,199 people in our community, and every ticket and donation helps us reach even more people who need us.”
The event is sponsored by DMH Stallard and Aspire Residential, the booking page says.

What it means for you
